Adult Summer Reading Programming - June 4-July 14
"Music Among the Books"
Part of the adult summer program will be an opportunity to become a Weekend Warrior! Pick up an application at CFPL or West Music and register by May 21 for a chance to become a member of a band that will practice weekly (for 6 weeks) culminating in a performance "after hours" at the library on Friday, July 13.
Other summer program activities will include guitar clinics, fiddle/violin workshops, drum circles and more. Click here for a complete list of events with their dates and times.

Youth Summer Reading Program

Teen Summer Reading Program

Play Room-Sized Board Games all Summer Long in the Teen Area: Giant Scrabble, Clue, Chutes & Ladders, Operation! and more! Every week this summer we will be offering a different board game to play. Freegal - Free Music Downloads!
The Library offers a free downloadable music service called Freegal. With access to the Sony Music Entertainment catalog, it offers hundreds of thousands of songs, over 100 genres of music, and more than 50 record labels. All you need is your library card number! The downloads are all in the MP3 format with no DRM (Digital Rights Management) limits. This service will work with any MP3 player, including iPod, and can be loaded into iTunes. It works on both PCs and Macs. Check it Out!

Jeffrey Copeland Discusses His Book: Shell Games
Jeffrey Copeland will discuss his book Shell Games: the life and times of Pearl McGill, industrial spy and pioneer labor activist on June 19th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Learn about the life of Pearl McGill and her struggle for safe working conditions in the pearl button factory where she worked. University Book and Supply will have copies of the book for sale that can be signed by the author.

Downloadable eBooks and Audiobooks
The Library currently has 2 collections of eBooks and Audiobooks available through Overdrive. We belong to NEIBORS, a consortium of over 130 Eastern Iowa Libraries. We also have an Overdrive collection with the Waterloo Public Library. You may checkout books in one or both collections. All you need is your library card number. See NEIBORS ebook guides and instructions.

Resume and Cover Letter Workshops
The Iowa Workforce Development will be at the Cedar Falls Public Library February 22, March 21, April 25, and May 23 from 2pm-4pm to offer assistance in writing a cover letter and resume. Session size is limited, so please sign up online or call 319-268-5543. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, are necessary.
