Cedar Valley's Youth Read 2015

Gary SchmidtThe Cedar Falls and Waterloo Public Libraries are pleased to announce Gary D. Schmidt as our Cedar Valley's Youth Read 2015 author-in-residence, Wed wars coverand this year's feature book is The Wednesday Wars.  Mr. Schmidt is a professor of English at Calvin College in Michigan and the recipient of two Newbery Honors and a Printz Honor.  He lives with his family on a 150-year-old farm in Michigan, where he splits wood, plants gardens, writes, and feeds the wild cats that drop by. Mr. Schmidt will be doing a presentation that is free and open to the public on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Waterloo Public Library, followed a book signing.

Cedar Valley's Youth Read 2015 is made possible by the Friends of the Library groups at the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Public Libraries and by the Cedar Falls Community Foundation's Robert & Shirley Berg Fund for use by the library.

Students wishing to order a copy of one of Mr. Schmidt's books may order online here or print the form located here and turn it in at University Book and Supply.
