Psychodrama: a Tender Love Story in Five Sessions
Friday, December 20 at 6:30 pm
Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a live performance of an original dramatic work, “Psychodrama.” Will a young couple ultimately embrace the more playful side of married life, or will their marriage remain in doubt? In either event, they must come to one inescapable realization: the line between life and art is a very thin one indeed.
Created by U.N.I. Professor Grant Tracey with Ann and Joe Frenna of the Waterloo Community Playhouse, an improvisational performance was recorded live and transcribed into an 80-90 minute comedy-drama based on the therapy technique of psychodrama. A therapist tries to get a young married couple to open up about the dissonance they are experiencing. In the course of their first session together he has them do a number of exercises that are more akin to theatre than to therapy.
This program is made possible by Friends of the Cedar Falls Public and is free to the public.
