The CFPL Iowa Author Series presents a feature-length showing of "The Best Years of Our Lives" (1946), winner of seven Academy Awards, with commentary by Grant Tracey, Professor of Film Studies, Creative Writing and Popular Culture, UNI.

Dr. Tracey will explore the film's Iowa connection to writer MacKinlay Kantor and to Webster City, the film's depiction of how returning veteran servicemen were forced to adapt to a much changed environment.
