David LevithanAuthor Visit: David Levithan, Wednesday, May 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the meeting room.  Free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, May 4, and Thursday, May 5, the Cedar Falls Public Library will host author David Levithan.  Mr. Levithan will present to local jr. high and high school students during the day and will offer his presentation to the public on Wednesday evening, which includes time for book-signing.  University Book and Supply will be selling Mr. Levithan's books at this event.

Mr. Levithan is the author or co-author of many books, including Boy Meets Boy (Lambda Award); Are We There Yet?; Love is a Higher Law; Will Grayson, Will Grayson (with John Green); and Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist (with Rachel Cohn).  Nick & Norah also was made into a feature film.  His first release for the adult (or, in his words, post-teenager) reading market, The Lover’s Dictionary, was released in January.  Not content to simply be a successful author, he also is an editorial director at Scholastic, where he has worked ever since he received a college internship there.  He is the founding editor of Scholastic’s PUSH imprint, publisher of innovative authors like Kevin Brooks (Being) and Patricia McCormick (Cut).
The CFPL staff is thrilled to provide Cedar Falls students and our library patrons this unique opportunity to hear from someone who is involved in so many aspects of the publishing industry.
