Author Linda Betsinger McCann will speak about her research and findings for her book Lost Black Hawk County: Vanished Towns of the Cedar Valley.
Linda Betsinger McCann has been researching genealogy for about thirty years. She also began researching the history of the Iowa area where she lives. Linda's great-grandparents settled in Iowa as early as the 1850s, and the seventh generation of her family lives in her hometown presently. Linda is president and a founding member of her local historical society and spends much of her time researching local history. This is her thirteenth book and second in the History Press series about abandoned towns in Iowa.
There will be a book signing after her presentation and copies of her book will be available for sale.
